Job Description:
We are currently hiring a talented Accountant to join the Sagility Team. The accountant will play a key role in producing timely and accurate financial statements and other required reports utilizing Financial Reporting Standards IFRS and Colombian GAAP. The primary purpose of this position is, while collaborating with other team members, to produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements that are free from material misstatements on a timely basis.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Complete and process monthly journal entries, bank reconciliations, account reconciliations and payroll reports.
Supervise payroll processing according to the parameters established by current labor legislation, providing assistance to employees and supervisors with procedures related to this process
Preparing payroll and payroll related accrual entries.
Assist with the monthly invoicing process.
Contribute to the development and coordinating the data needs related to the annual budget, projections, various financial modeling and management reporting.
Support the general ledger month-end close and presentation of the balance sheet and income statement results and analysis.
Responsible for the preparation of general ledger entries and reconciliations for month-end closing.
Responsibility for analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis and reporting on variances, including preparation of a monthly account analysis of the financial statements.
Provide recommendations for internal controls and operational improvements across departments and operating entities as identified.
Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual reporting and audit requirements.
Ad hoc reporting.
Provide support to other team members.
Perform other tasks as assigned to support the goals of the organization
Minimum Job Requirements: (Education, Experience, Skills)
Bachelor?s degree in accounting
CPA
3+ years of progressively responsible work experience
Demonstrated experience in accounting, specifically in monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes.
Demonstrated experience in preparation and filing of national and district taxes, and preparation and submission of exogenous/magnetic media information (national and district levels)
Extensive experience in payroll processing, social benefits, and social security.
Solid understanding of accounting concepts and processes (account reconciliations, A/P and A/R activities)
Strong problem solving and analytical skills while being detail orientated.
Ability to identify and resolve accounting, reporting and other issues.
Strong data mining skills with the ability to leverage large data bases for analysis.
Hands-on self-starter with a strong desire to promote and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills suitable for Senior Management presentations
Excellent project management skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Energetic and ability to work in a team orientated environment.
Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
SAP / Workday ERP experience a plus
