Stories @ HGS: William

William is a temp team leader with HGS USA. He has been with us for over seven years now. He shares with us his experience of growing with HGS.

HGS: How has the journey been so far?

William: The journey has been great! It’s been a steep learning curve over the years. I started out as a customer service representative, taking calls. After about six months, emails were another channel in the mix. Soon after, I was promoted to the role of lead operator.

My next promotion was as a program coordinator because of all the additional responsibilities I had taken on. This role put me in closer contact with the client in addition to assisting the team leaders and covering the floor in their absence. Recently, I graduated from the ReadyNow program for individual contributors. Soon after, I got promoted to the role of temporary team leader.

HGS: What about HGS has made you stay?

William: There have been some amazing takeaways from each of these roles. Very clearly, every experience has set me up for the one that has followed. That gives me a lot to look forward to in my work with HGS. This has definitely been on the top of my list of reasons to stay on!

Another top reason has been all my guides and mentors who have helped me along the way. The willingness that people at HGS have to extend their assistance in your growth is incredible. I will not be where I am if not for the knowledge they have freely shared with me. While I have learned all that I have to help my growth in the field, I have also learned how to be a good mentor for others. This has been a valuable lesson, indeed.
