In this series, our trainers share insights on how employees grow with HGS.
HGS: Tell us about your education and experience.
Murugesan: After my diploma, I wanted to help my mother financially, and I was exploring many different roles. I heard about the customer relationship officer opening at HGS, and gave it a shot. Getting my offer letter was a great feeling, and I joined with a lot of passion and excitement for the work here. It has been more than five years since, and I’ve grown into my current role. I’m just as excited about my job today, as I was when I had started here. From what I’ve seen in my time with HGS, I’m not the only one who feels this way about my professional journey here.
HGS: What’s a pro-tip you would share with those attending your training sessions?
Murugesan: I always encourage my trainees to explore what kind of learning style suits them best, and to seek out the trainer’s help in learning required materials in that manner. We as trainers are merely enablers. When trainees are involved in their learning process, their interest in the business process and their role becomes organic.
HGS: What about HGS do you share with your trainees?
Murugesan: I cite my own experience with HGS in my sessions because examples speak the loudest. I have found that HGS is a fun and nurturing work environment, with adequate focus on work-life balance. As a growing organisation with future business expansions, we look for potential leaders within first, so individuals are always encouraged to develop their skills to fill such roles.
HGS: What are you known for among your trainees?
Murugesan: Possibly for being attentive to and taking extra care of the trainees who need help.
