Rebecca is a Customer Service Associate with HGS Canada. She has been with us for more than five years now. She shares with us her experience with HGS.
HGS: How has the journey been so far?
Rebecca: It's been a whirlwind! I started with a communications client before moving into a tech position. From Barrie, I moved to the Windsor site, and I was retrained for the client. Immediately after moving to the new site, I started to do some support. I would help the hospitality support specialist with setting up, cover for her, and help her with day-to-day activities. I have been on the BRC & Engage teams and also, a member of the joint occupational health and safety committee, of which I am one of the Co-chairs. Then, I have been a lead associate, which gave me a chance to explore coaching and helping the team leads. I have been involved in many OJT classes.
It has been a fascinating journey; you never know what could happen every day! With most of what I have done involving training of some kind, I do feel I have grown a lot! I have learned not only to be more patient but also to adapt my teaching to suit whom I am teaching.
HGS has taught me patience and adaptability.
HGS: What about HGS has made you stay?
Rebecca: I would have to say it's the people. We have some of the best people working here. It feels more like a family than a workplace; everybody goes above and beyond to make sure HGS is a great place to work for us on the floor. If I have a challenging day, I get lots of encouragement, and the incentives help as well. It is also a place where they give people opportunities to advance from within which is pretty awesome too!
