Stories @ HGS: Suma Ramanna

Suma Ramanna is a senior process trainer, based out of our Chennai centre. She has been with us for over eight years. She shares with us her experience of growth at HGS.

How has your experience been in all these years?

Working at HGS has been quite rewarding for me. I started here as an agent. Since then, I’ve been an SME, a team leader and now, I’m working as a senior process trainer. Over the years, people in the management team may have come and gone, but the style remains the same. Today, there is a lot of improvement regarding employee engagement, and that has added value to the atmosphere. For example, activities like Fun@Work and festival celebrations help make us feel proud to be a part of HGS.

What does your job entail?

My job involves classroom training, motivational activities, counselling where required and introducing the process and product to newly joined agents. I enjoy conducting motivational activities the most because I can see how my sessions help in engaging people and distracting them from stress on the floor.

How would you describe your journey of growth?

HGS has taught me a lot. I have learnt how to weather the storm, no matter how harsh the conditions. I have learnt to focus more on gratitude and less on apologies. HGS has also taught me to be proactive. These are not lessons anyone will teach you in a classroom. I have also undergone the AGRIMA program (leadership training for women at HGS) which has helped me hone my skills and develop new ones to grow in the direction of my choice.

What motivates you at work?

My boss. Thanks to him, I have been able to channel and turn around my mistakes into lessons, pressure into productivity, and my skills into strengths. In my experience, the best bosses are ones that can inspire one to believe in themselves. There are many such bosses here at HGS.

What is something that stands out for you at HGS?

Personally, HGS has given me the platform to learn, grow and practice what I have learnt on a daily basis. The support we get here from peers and superiors is remarkable. HGS is an organisation that values everyone’s opinion and is willing to understand individual circumstances. I say this wholeheartedly that HGS is a great place to work.

At HGS, we believe our people are our most significant investment. Join an organisation that supports your growth all the way.
