Ruby is one of our customer service representatives in HGS-Philippines. She shares her experience of working with us.
A job at HGS came to me at a time when I going through a heavy personal loss. I had lost my second daughter at birth, and it was the most tragic moment I had experienced as a mother. All that changed when I got a call, saying I had been referred by someone for a customer service role. I hadn’t actually met the person who had referred me—he was a friend of my partner. My interview went rather well, and I even ended up sharing my story to the person who conducted my first round of interview. Like they say, the rest was history.
In many ways, HGS has been an unexpected saving grace. My job here has helped me heal, largely because I feel like I have found new purpose because of it. Some days are a struggle to keep up with the metrics, but I’m learning that life can be quite monotonous without challenges on the way. And because of the challenges, we get the opportunity to learn something new every day.
Outside of work, I really look forward to the annual Kick-Off Party, because it’s a night worthy of the everyday hustle and bustle. We also have the variety of engagement activities on the floor to enliven our usual work days. These events remind me of how proud I am to be a part of my team.
The organization goes out of its way to let us know that we are not alone. Just recently, my father suffered a stroke, and we were able to get through it with financial assistance from HGS. I know that the company has my back, and it makes me feel that I belong somewhere. I also have made good friends here, who are now integral parts of my life. Looking back, I can see the extent to which working here has helped me grow both professionally and personally, and I take great pride in this.
I know my tryst with HGS is going to be a long one. I will always be grateful for everything that HGS has helped me with, and the confidence it has given me.
