Tax Compliance Manager – Finance, Taxation
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Tax Compliance
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns (income tax, VAT, withholding tax, etc.) with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).
- Monitor changes in Philippine tax laws and regulations, and implement necessary adjustments.
- Directly coordinate with external service providers on the preparation and e-submission of to BIR, LGU, SEC and other government agencies.
- Spearhead tax compliance health checks regularly and accountability for maintaining the highest level of tax compliances.
- Coordinate with external auditors and government agencies during tax audits and assessments.
- Tax Planning & Advisory
- Develop and execute tax strategies to optimize the company’s tax position while maintaining compliance.
- Provide guidance on tax implications of contracts, investments, and new business initiatives.
- Advise management on potential tax risks and opportunities.
- Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate tax records and documentation for internal and external reporting.
- Prepare tax-related reports for senior management and stakeholders.
- Ensure proper reconciliation of tax accounts in line with financial reporting standards.
- Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor tax staff, ensuring continuous professional development.
- Establish efficient processes for tax compliance and reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support overall business objectives.
- Coordinate with PEZA and BOI compliance team related to tax reports submissions to PEZA and BOI and other government agencies.
General Safety and Security
- Protects the organization’s assets by upholding the principles of the Quality Information Security Management System (QISMS).
- Ensures confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information critical to fulfilling the organization’s business functions.
COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:
A. TECHNICAL COMPETENCY:
- Knowledge of tax rules and regulations in a BPO environment:
Knowledgeable on the NIRC, as amended and its implementing rules and regulations. Be up to date with new tax rules and regulations. Able to identify tax issues related to the Company and make recommendations and resolutions.
- Familiarity with Company’s Methods and Procedures (M&P’s)
Able to check compliance with M&P’s based on documents submitted for validation.
2. Able to check proper approvers of documents per Company’s financial authority policy.

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- Minimum 4-6 years of progressive experience in taxation, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of Philippine tax laws, BIR regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience in a BPO or shared services industry a plus.
- Experience in tax planning, audits, and risk management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications.
