PEZA and BOI Compliance Manager – Finance, Taxation

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

GOVERNMENT REPORTING AND UPDATES 

  • Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure full compliance with PEZA and BOI rules, regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Oversee the preparation, review, and submission of mandatory reports, permits, and certifications.
  • Monitor updates in government policies and implement necessary adjustments to maintain incentives.

  • Tax Incentive Management
  • Manage the company’s tax incentive programs, ensuring continued eligibility and maximization of benefits.
  • Prepare documentation and reports required to sustain PEZA/BOI incentives.
  • Advise management on the impact of incentives on business operations and expansion plans.

  • Government Liaison
  • Act as the primary representative in dealings with PEZA, BOI, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Coordinate inspections, audits, and site visits by government authorities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory officials.

  • Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate and updated records of all PEZA and BOI registrations, permits, and approvals.
  • Ensure timely renewal of licenses, certifications, and incentive applications.
  • Provide compliance status reports and risk assessments to senior management.

  • Strategic Advisory
  • Evaluate new business initiatives for compliance implications and recommend strategies to optimize incentives.
  • Support expansion projects by guiding the company through registration and accreditation processes.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Tax teams to align compliance with overall fiscal strategy.

  • Team Collaboration
  • Train and mentor staff on compliance requirements and best practices.
  • Develop internal policies and procedures to strengthen compliance culture.
  • Work closely with HR, Finance, and Operations to ensure compliance across all functions.

COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

A. TECHNICAL COMPETENCY:

  • Knowledge of PEZA and BOI rules and regulations in a BPO environment:

Knowledgeable on RA 7916 and Omnibus Investment Code (EO No. 226) and its implementing rules and regulations. Knowledgeable on FIRB rules and regulations specifically related to BPO industry. Able to identify erroneous documents submitted when checking accuracy and existence of documentation. Able to make recommendations and resolutions on any issues or compliance matters.

  • Familiarity with Company’s Methods and Procedures (M&P’s)

Able to check compliance with M&P’s based on documents submitted for validation.

2.    Able to check proper approvers of documents per Company’s financial authority policy.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Reports to:  Associate Director – Taxation and Compliance

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, law, or related field.
  • Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • Minimum 4-6 years of experience in regulatory compliance, preferably with PEZA and BOI.
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine investment laws, tax incentives, and government regulations.
  • Experience in handling audits, inspections, and government reporting.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Background in the BPO or shared services industry is highly preferred.
