Lori-Ann is a part of our employee engagement team at HGS Jamaica. She shares with us her experiences working here.
HGS: How has the journey been so far?
Lori-Ann: I am learning every day, so I value my time here. In my first year of working here, I have learnt that you should be humble and trust that things will work out in time. HGS has also taught me the skills of working under pressure and practicing active listening.
HGS: What motivates you at work?
Lori-Ann: I love the environment. Every activity we do here makes sure that all of the employees can have fun together.
I’m not only here to engage advocates, but also to set an example and lead them in the right direction.
I play an essential part working as an engagement officer, and my role can range from helping a coworker in need, to offering a listening ear. I’m not only here to engage advocates, but also to set an example and lead them in the right direction.
HGS: What stands out for you at HGS?
Lori-Ann: The fact that I am an engagement officer helps me to build character alongside my peers. Growing up, I was always somewhat anti-social, but now I look forward to seeing my advocates smile in activities that our team organises.
