Stories @ HGS: Tim McElyea

Tim McElyea is one of our team leaders in HGS USA. He has been with us for over 21 years now. He shares with us his experience of working with HGS.

How has the journey been so far?

When I started in 1997, I took calls for a client and within a year, I was taking supervisor calls and assisting with training. In 1999, I was one of the first agents to be picked for the real-time pilot team, and I’ve been in real time ever since. At the time that I had started working, we were still a locally based company. Now, we’re a global organization. I think growth for the company and everyone who’s been a part of it has been tremendous.

What inspires you at work every day?

I like the challenge that not every day is the same thing. So, if a solution worked for you on one day, it may not necessarily work the next day. We’re always looking for new strategies and finding different ways to make our process work. I like how we support many accounts with various scopes at HGS, so there are opportunities to move around within the company.

What do you like the most about your job?

We still have a lot to learn in real time, so I enjoy the room of growth that my job allows and being able to develop my team’s skills for their tasks.

What are you popular for at the office?

For being dependable.
